Volunteer Opportunities

Mary's Kitty Korner is a nonprofit organization currently comprised entirely of volunteers.  Our success is dependent upon the dedication and commitment of our volunteers.

We are continuously working to locate good homes for our community's forgotten and abused cats.  We care so much about animals and if you do also then please find out more about us.

Consider volunteering.  Talk to your friends about us.  Contribute funds.  There are so many ways to help.

In Shelter Volunteer

Help with feeding, cleaning, medicating and providing love and affection. Shifts are about 3 hours morning or evening, with volunteers working a minimum of twice a month.

Foster Guardian

Foster guardians open their homes and hearts to the many cats that need MKK’s help.  They handle a multitude of responsibilities including: feeding the cat a healthy diet, providing a safe home, vet visit transportation, medication as necessary, and lots of socialization and love.

Adoptions/Screenings

Adoptions take place on the weekends at the shelter Sat 11-3 and Sun 12-3. Foster homes are by appointment.  Once an application is approved, a volunteer will set up a meeting with the prospective adopter so they can take their new cat home and the volunteer can answer any final questions while going over the adoption contact and health paperwork of the cat. This is a great time to make sure that a good match has been made so everyone feels comfortable. If you are not scheduled to meet with an adopter, many prospective adopters will be coming in the door to meet their new feline companion.  This  is the perfect time to talk with people and give them information about the cats living at the shelter. Hopefully you can encourage an application to be filled out and another adoption success is in the making! It is very gratifying to get to know the cats and match them with the perfect home.

Fundraising & Marketing

Help plan or assist with publicity activities such as staffing fundraisers, putting up posters, placing ads, picture taking and making phone calls or other tasks that help us find homes for our cats.

Cat Transportation

Provide transportation of cats to adoptions, vet appointments or other locations.
